Workshop: Silhouette Ornament
December 3rd, Sunday 1-4 p.m.
Learn to use a jeweler's hand saw to pierce a shape out of a copper disc. We will have a variety of paper templates with holiday themed shapes that you can choose from. Depending on the design you select, you can choose the complexity you are comfortable with. Most designs will allow you to complete two ornaments in this one session, a positive shape that you have cut out of the circle and the negative silhouette in the disc.
We will then file the edges and do a bit of sanding to clean them up. Then you can use metal stamps to decorate your ornaments, stamp a message or the year into the surface. We will finish the ornaments off with a cord or ribbon for hanging and ready to give!
All materials and tools will be provided.
Class is open to any student ages 14+. Seven spots are available for this class.
For your safety, closed toe shoes are required for this workshop.
