The Columbus Historical Society’s (www.columbushistoy.org) is to “preserve and promote” the history of Ohio’s Capital City. Located within COSI (the Center of Science and Industry), one of the most respected science centers in the nation. In the heart of downtown Columbus, our 2,400 square foot museum features displays that tell the diverse history and stories of Ohio’s Capital City. Interactive computer driven exhibits, artifacts, and images will stimulate the imagination about Columbus’s history. The Columbus Historical Society also preserves the history of Columbus by collecting and archiving materials relevant to the history of our city. These materials, are used to tell our city's history through our exhibits, programs, and our online archive (www.columbusmemory.org) in partnership with the Columbus Metropolitan Library, expanding our reach worldwide. Our summer bus tour series (4th Saturdays May – October) is a two and a half hour tour through the central city where guests learn about the history, growth, and development of Columbus. These tours are also available as “On Demand” tours for private groups by calling the society headquarters. Please contact the Columbus Historical Society at www.columbushistory.org to learn more.
