Nothing helps a group connect quite like getting active together, and in Columbus there are numerous opportunities to have these shared experiences even as the thermostat starts to drop.

Throw axes at Dueling Axes
Axe throwing is the latest craze to sweep the nation, and groups of up to 120 people can see for themselves why this activity is so fun at downtown’s premiere axe throwing lounge, Dueling Axes. Once participants learn how to safely throw an axe, they are divided up into eight throwing lanes of up to six people each to test for themselves. Various games, similar to those used in darts, can add some friendly competition to the evening.

Learning a new skill together is one of the best ways to facilitate team building. This fun atmosphere will have everyone cheering each other on, competing for bragging rights and leaving with stories to share amongst themselves for years to come. This is an especially great option for the budget-conscious (or constricted) planner as the facility is BYO beer, wine and food, which allows for much greater control of the budget. Dueling Axes is surrounded by numerous restaurants and bars with which they have connections for groups that need food and beverage.

Bounce at an indoor trampoline park
Encourage your attendees to get out of their heads and become kids again at one of Columbus’ most amusing and unconventional recreation activities. The floors of these facilities are almost completely made of trampolines and foam pits, giving guests the chance to bounce, fly and tumble across the room or up the walls.

Get together a dodgeball tournament while jumping at Sky Zone, or check out the city’s ultimate trampoline park, ROCKIN’ JUMP®, that also offers basketball and stunts as well as a widget ladder, rock wall, ninja course and more.

Topgolf

Hit the links at Topgolf
One of the world’s top event and entertainment destinations, Topgolf opened a new location in Columbus just last year. Groups can swing the clubs any time of year in Topgolf’s 100+ climate-controlled hitting bays, each teed-up with a bevy of games to get the competition started. Groups as small as 7 to more than 500 are guaranteed a great evening with Topgolf’s dedicated event staff at the helm. Whether using just one bay, an entire floor, or any combination of bays and meeting rooms, Topgolf’s flexible events team can work with planners to create any type of event they envision.

Find something for everyone at Grand Prix Carting
Grand Prix Karting is Central Ohio’s premier destination for speed and adventure. Only minutes from downtown Columbus, there’s something for everyone. With two indoor karting tracks, the tactical laser tag attraction Modern Laser Warfare, mini golf and more, you’ll find a day full of fun for the whole group. Grand Prix Karting offers a variety of private event space and can accommodate groups up to 250, and it’s a sure-fire way to make your next team building experience a day they won’t forget.

Attempt to get out of an escape room
For a less intense activity, one that works out the brain instead of the body’s more traditional muscles, have your attendees work together to get out of an escape room. The concept: Teams are locked in a themed room where they have 60 minutes to find clues, solve puzzle games, locate secret passages and discover keys and combinations to escape the locked room before time is up! Columbus’ newest escape room, Escape Room USA, is directly across from the Greater Columbus Convention Center. With six different rooms of varying levels of difficulty, Escape Room USA also offers a beautiful lounge and selection of Ohio craft beers and catering connections to make for a great pre-event rally or post-event breakdown.
