A hotel gym can be key to not disrupting a fitness plan while traveling, but we know that sometimes after spending the day in one breakout session after another, all you want to do is get outside and savor the sunshine. Luckily, Columbus has some great parks that offer the perfect setting for an enjoyable, outdoor workout!

Just steps from the doors of the Greater Columbus Convention Center you will encounter Goodale Park - the oldest park in Columbus - featuring beautiful floral displays, a pond with a fountain and 650+ trees. The peacefulness and serenity encountered in this park make it the perfect place to lay down a yoga mat and work out all the stresses from the day with some Sun Salutations.

Scioto MileFor those that love to run but get bored on a treadmill and don't want to get tangled up in city traffic, the Scioto Mile stretches along the downtown riverfront, from the Arena District to the Whittier Peninsula, covering 145 acres of lush parkland, scenic overlooks and more, offering a tranquil spot for a jog within the city walls. Don't want to run? Rent a CoGo bike and take the trail on wheels! Once you reach the end you can even extend your workout with an obstacle course, canoe trip, rock climbing and more at Scioto Audubon.

Columbus CommonsOr, in the heart of downtown Columbus is a 7 acre green space know as Columbus Commons, featuring a hand-carved carousel, bocce courts, a life-size chess set and more!
