CBS Saturday Morning followed legendary author R.L. Stine, creator of Goosebumps and Fear Street, on a nostalgic homecoming to Columbus, where his fright-filled career first began. The segment traced Stine’s journey from a shy kid typing stories on his aunt’s old typewriter to one of the best-selling authors in history, with more than 400 million books sold worldwide.

Visiting his childhood home for the first time in more than five decades, Stine reflected on his beginnings and what still drives him to write every day. “I don’t know why, I just love writing. I still like it after all these years,” he said.
