Experience Columbus Insider (ECI) Program
The Experience Columbus Insider program intends to educate residents and equip the local hospitality industry to understand the economic impact that accompanies a strong tourism economy. Our goal is to provide resources and education for local industry professionals via the completion of the online ECI program developed by Experience Columbus.

Program Objective
To foster a group of passionate residents that create memorable experiences for visitors, elevate the guest experience, and promote the Greater Columbus region.
Accreditation Process
All Insiders complete an online or in person course which covers the history of Columbus, things to do, specific language to help visitors navigate the city, and promoting the Greater Columbus region. After completing the course, Insiders will gain access to two years of benefits that include:
- Monthly Networking Events that include behind-the-scenes tours, happy hours, and informational webinars
- Discounts and free tickets to Columbus events
- Adding ECI to resumes, LinkedIn, email signatures, etc.
- An interactive member portal with Columbus information, forums, and event information
Who should take this course?
The Experience Columbus Insider (ECI) accreditation course is designed for individuals and organizations that have a direct interest in promoting Columbus, tourism, hospitality, and/or community engagement.
Typical participants include:

Hospitality and Tourism Professionals - hotel staff, restaurant employees, and transportation providers. Individuals working in attractions, museums, or event venues.

Customer-facing Employees - retail employees or anyone who regularly interacts with visitors. Professionals in roles that provide recommendations to out-of-town guests.

Event Planners and Organizers - those hosting conferences, meetings, or events in Columbus and looking to provide tailored experiences for attendees.

Community Ambassadors - volunteers, tour guides, or city advocates who promote Columbus to visitors.

Businesses Seeking to Engage Tourists - small business owners in retail, food, and entertainment. Staff from chambers of commerce, visitor centers, or other promotional organizations.
