Columbus' Top Golf Courses

Columbus has a storied golf history as the birthplace of Jack Nicklaus and the home of his Memorial Tournament, presented by Nationwide. In fact, Columbus is home to four courses that rank in the nation’s top 100, and two of them — The Golf Club and Muirfield Village Golf Club — rank among the top 100 in the world.

Here are some of the top spots to hit the links around Columbus.

Airport Golf Course (AGC)

Located next to John Glenn Columbus International Airport, players can watch as planes take off and land right from the tee box. AGC is designed for all ages and skill sets, and with the course regularly updating its holes, each visit offers a new experience!

Champions Golf Course

This 18-hole upscale public course, located near Easton, was designed by the world-famous golf course architect, Robert Trent Jones Sr., and is one of the most challenging public courses in Central Ohio because of its rolling fairways, massive trees and wave-like greens.

Muirfield Village Golf Club

Easily central Ohio’s most famous course, located in Dublin’s Muirfield Village and founded by famed-golfer Jack Nicklaus, it is the site of the annual Memorial Tournament, a PGA Tour event. Muirfield has also hosted several national championships and international team competitions, including the 1992 U.S. Amateur, 1987 Ryder Cup, 2013 Presidents Cup and more, so guests can try the course that has been tested by many pros over the years.

Safari Golf Club

Located at The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and regularly named the city’s best public golf course, Safari offers the opportunity to explore world-class holes designed by course architect Dr. Michael Hurdzan at a great value.

Scioto Country Club Golf Course

Centrally located, regularly ranked among top golf courses in the country and designed by acclaimed architect Donald Ross, the Scioto C.C. course is where young Jack Nicklaus honed his craft under legendary teaching professional Jack Grout. The site has hosted nine different major championships including the U.S. Open (1926), the Ryder Cup (1931), the PGA Championship (1950), the U.S. Amateur Championship (1968), and the U.S. Senior Open Championship (1986 & 2016).

Tartan Fields Golf Club

This Arnold Palmer Signature Championship Course in Dublin offers elegant greens offset by a classic New England-style clubhouse featuring upscale dining and cocktails.
