It's a shame that Mercury astronaut and Marine Corps veteran Senator John Glenn didn't live quite long enough to see his dream fulfilled. But the project he started, the National Veterans Memorial and Museum, opened its doors last fall as America's gathering place for servicemen and servicewomen, their families and fellow citizens who wish to learn about the complete veteran's experience.
