While Earth Day may technically be one day on the calendar, these events take place throughout the entire month of April and into May, offering you the opportunity to find a volunteer time that works best for you!

Earth Day in Columbus Events
Earth Day Columbus offers the opportunity to volunteer at several worksites across the city of Columbus during the entire month of April. Options include cleanups, tree plantings and community garden work. The month will culminate with a family-friendly Earth Day Celebration on April 27 from 11:00 am - 7:00 pm. Earth Day Gardening at Goodale Park
Volunteer to help maintain Columbus’ oldest public park and its 13+ gardens on Saturday, April 12, from 9:00 am to noon. Register here.
Green Lawn Cemetery Litter Cleanup
Volunteers will pick up litter in Green Lawn Cemetery on April 12 at 10:00 am. All supplies will be provided. Sign up here.
Earth Day Celebration with Seeds of Caring
Seeds of Caring hosts their annual Kids as Planet Protectors Earth Day Celebration at Grange Insurance Audubon Center on April 19. This free celebration includes projects for kids, educational activities, community partners and more. There will be two sessions. Register online.
Earth Day at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium
Beginning April 21, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is hosting recycling drives with different items collected each day, including handheld electronics, batteries, styrofoam, and electronics. On April 26 and 27, they will host an Earth Day Celebration with conservation activity stations, a Party for the Planet, character ambassadors, local organizations, and more!
Earth-Friendly Foraging Walk at Franklin Park Conservatory
Take a foraging plant walk around the Franklin Park Conservatory Community Garden Campus to look for edible plants within the park and learn how to be a better steward of the Earth. This event takes place on April 24. Register here.
Arbor Day Celebration at Chadwick Arboretum
On April 25 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, Chadwick Arboretum will celebrate Arbor Day with newly planted trees, awards, speakers, and refreshments.
Big River Clean-Up at Confluence Park
On Saturday, April 26, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, you can volunteer to clean up litter from the confluence of the Olentangy and Scioto Rivers and the surrounding areas. Sign up here.
2025 Earth Day Celebration at Scioto Audubon Metro Park
This family-friendly event features live music, food trucks, vendors, educational children’s activities, live performances, community partners and more! This event will take place on April 27 from 11:00 am - 7:00 pm.
