Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Fatouma is proudly closing out her career in Columbus. Here’s why the city has been so special to her over the years:

What is your favorite thing about living in Columbus?

My favorite thing about living in Columbus is the accessibility to everything. Everything I need is right down the street or less than 20 minutes to get to. I enjoy the food scene the most because there’s always something new to try. Specifically, when it comes to different ethnic foods. It’s definitely a city with so many cultures.

What are three of your favorite local restaurants?

Taste of Orient, Bonifacio, and Food Street

Where do you take your friends and family when they visit?

I take them to Piada Italian Street Food, an Ohio State football game, and shops on High Street. For an activity, I would take them to Otherworld.

Describe your ideal day in Columbus

My ideal day in Columbus would be a brunch at Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen or the restaurant Orale Guey. Afterwards, I would get my nails done at Amelia’s Nails on 5th Avenue. A drive down to Easton for some shopping would come next. After that, I would get food at Afra Grill, where they serve one of the cheapest/best African cuisines in Columbus. For an activity, I would most likely go to a VR spot with my friends. Ending the night watching a movie at Gateway.

What are you saying “yes” to in Columbus this year?

Going to the Columbus Zoo, trying new food spots, exploring COSI, and going to an escape room.

Fatouma’s collegiate career with the Buckeyes has come to an end, but you can still follow along to watch her explore some her favorite places throughout the city.
