From the field to the court, the pool to the ice — and everywhere in between — Experience Columbus is proud to spotlight 18 Ohio State female student-athletes who are making an impact both in competition and across the city. Follow along as they share the places, experiences, and hidden gems that have shaped their time in Columbus, the city they’ve chosen to call home throughout their athletic careers.

Amanda Schlueter is a midfielder on the Ohio State women’s soccer team. Throughout her career as a Buckeye, she has earned All-Big Ten First Team and Second Team honors, in addition to being named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team. In 2025—her junior season—she led the team in scoring with a career-high 11 goals and five assists, including three game-winning goals.

On the national stage, Amanda was called up to the USA U20 Training Camp in the summer of 2025.

Amanda is from Union, Kentucky, and said Columbus has supported her athletic journey. Her favorite thing about living here is the people.

What are your favorite places to get active outdoors?

I love walking around campus, like The Oval, and also the Olentangy Trail.

How has Columbus helped your athletic career?

It’s given me the chance to meet the most amazing people that make everyday fun and also a wide variety of fun things to do outside of my sport which helps me find a good balance.

What are three of your favorite local restaurants or coffee shops?

Matcha Me, Northstar, and Forno

What are you saying “yes” to in Columbus this year?

I’m saying yes to as many things I can in Columbus this year. I want to try new restaurants, new sports games, and new activities.
