The annual Columbus Italian Festival, presented by Saint John the Baptist Italian Catholic Church, celebrates Italian-American culture October 9-11. The Festival is located at Hamlet and E. Lincoln streets, between Summit and N. Fourth streets. Enjoy open-air markets, Italian dancing and singing on the cobblestone streets, the new children’s area, plenty of fabulous Italian food from various vendors, including that once-a-year chance to “gorge" on St. John’s Pizza baked fresh in front of the Church. Italian cooking demonstrations return after 10 years. Enter the bocce ball tournament with $1500 top prize. Tour the historic church, learn about Italian traditions and dance to live entertainment on two stages. Elio Scaccio & Rick Brunetto Big Band let you feel as if you are strolling the streets of Rome with the Lettere d’Amore Show. On Festival Sunday, attend the 9:00 am Catholic mass in our 119 year old church, participate in Maria’s Miles Race at 10:00 am and watch The Columbus Day Parade beginning at 1:00pm through the heart of Italian Village in downtown Columbus. At 2:00 cheer for your favorite high school during the marching band competition. Festival hours are Friday 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday 12-11 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
