Experience Columbus Foundation
Our Mission
The Experience Columbus Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening and advancing the Central Ohio hospitality and tourism industry. Our mission is to bridge the gap between a growing destination and a supported workforce, creating a vibrant travel economy that benefits everyone who lives, works, and visits our region.
Why It Matters
We believe that selling a destination is only the first step; the true "Columbus Experience" lives within the quality of service visitors receive. To provide world-class service, our workforce needs a world-class support system. By investing in the people behind the industry, we create a sustainable, equitable, and healthy hospitality ecosystem.
Our Impact & Partnerships
The Foundation focuses on removing barriers to success. We are proud to support our Foundation Champions who are making a difference on the ground:
The Columbus State School of Hospitality Management & Culinary Arts: We partner with the financial and emergency funding offices to alleviate the "hidden costs" of education. From emergency rent and utility assistance to bus passes, books, and lab supplies, we ensure students can stay focused on their careers rather than their financial obstacles.
Service!: Founded by local industry leaders Letha Pugh, Sangeeta Lakhani, and Matthew Heaggans, this relief program is dedicated to breaking the cycle of financial insecurity. Through advocacy, education, and direct grants, Service! empowers a diverse workforce and operates impactful social enterprises like Café Overlook.
Join Us
Whether through emergency relief, career-advancement grants, or educational support, the Experience Columbus Foundation is dedicated to building up our industry by building up its people.
Together, we are making Central Ohio a place where hospitality is more than a job—it’s a sustainable, supported, and celebrated career.
