It’s hard to beat a good rooftop patio! When the weather is nice, you’ll find plenty of spaces around Columbus to enjoy good food, drink, and company al fresco – all with an elevated view.
One of Cameron Mitchell’s newest forays is Lincoln Social Rooftop, situated on the top floor of a new building in the Short North. The picturesque views of the neighborhood offer an ideal backdrop for enjoying cocktails and wines, craft beer, spirits and a menu of thoughtfully designed small bites and shareable plates.
Seventh Son Brewing’s newer sister brewery features a second floor, open-air patio that looks out over High Street. There’s plenty of space to lounge with a cocktail or one of their house-made sours. During the colder months the patio is partly enclosed, which makes for ideal gathering around the concrete fireplace.
Platform features a small rooftop patio that seats maybe a dozen, accessible from an outdoor stairwell at the front of their space. Kick back with pints of their always-rotating beer selection, order from food trucks or pop-ups on site and take in the view of downtown Columbus.
This neighborhood-favorite watering hole is known for their rooftop patio – the perfect spot to look out over growing Italian Village while you sample from their cocktail, craft beer, and spirits collection. Stick around for DJs, dance parties and curated playlists offered regularly.
The view at Juniper is hard to beat. Situated on top of the historic Smith Bros’ Hardware Building, Juniper looks out over downtown Columbus. Visit for cocktails (including a handsome gin selection) and everything from johnny cakes and jerk shrimp to charcuterie boards and burgers to short rib to cauliflower steak, all while enjoying unparalleled views of the city skyline and the surrounding neighborhoods.
BrewDog’s Franklinton outpost sits in the middle of the booming neighborhood, across from breweries and bars, artist studios and co-working spaces. The entire rooftop is dedicated to patio space, with a full bar, plenty of seating and games.
When it first opened, VASO quickly made a name for itself as a dining and drink destination with excellent views. Located on the top floor of the AC Hotel in Dublin’s growing Bridge Park neighborhood, VASO focuses on Spanish-style tapas. Savor Instagram-worthy cocktails along with small plates like chorizo-stuffed empanadas, spicy lamb meatballs, seafood paella, braised jackfruit tacos and other creations. During the colder months, VASO erects clear plastic geodesic domes with space heaters inside, so you can gather with friends for drinks and snacks al fresco.
The long-running Novak’s enjoys a big patio space that looks over the North Market, the Convention Center and other Short North and downtown landmarks. Their rooftop patio is a favorite hangout to catch every game on the multiple flat screen TVs. It features live DJs on weekends, plenty of drink options and pub grub from Barley’s Brewing Company next door.
Although Seventh Son’s recent expansion isn’t open-air, it still offers a chance to enjoy a beer in an elevated setting. The new upstairs bar and beer hall features plenty of natural lighting, views of the brewery itself and communal tables. Sip house beers and order dinner or weekend brunch from one of the many local food trucks that park at the brewery.
This Clintonville neighborhood pub features a small rooftop patio that overlooks the building and their garden spaces out front. It’s strung with lights and makes for an intimate spot to sample their large craft beer selection, order a cocktail, and taste their menu crafted from local and regional ingredients.
