Each year on June 14, Columbus celebrates 614 Day, an ode to our area code and all of the things that make our city so special. Last year, the day designed to champion all things Columbus was recognized by Columbus City Council as an official city holiday; and this year, 614 Day takes on a more important meaning than ever as the city is in the midst of two major public health crises.
But our community is strong. Our city is progressive and resilient. We’re known for being optimistic and full of opportunity. Our new Live Forward campaign is designed to spread hope and happiness, which we need now more than ever, so this 614 day, we ask you to join us.
Continue to support local businesses that have been impacted by shutdowns through no fault of their own. Continue to speak out against social injustice. As the organization that proudly promotes and encourages visitation to Columbus, we know it’s you, the people, that make it most worth visiting.
Here are a few ways to safely celebrate 614 Day this year.
Attend an Event
Drive-Thru Food Truck Rally
Live events are the heart and soul of this city we know and love. Since we are unable to safely gather together this year, a Drive-Thru Food Truck Rally will be hosted at MAPFRE Stadium from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. To pre-order food (up to 72 hours in advance), visit the official Ohio Food Truck Rally website.
Livestream Performances
From 12-9 p.m., two studios will livestream incredible 614-inspired content from local influencers, musicians and artists via Facebook Live. Performers include Mojoflo, Jerry Depizzo of O.A.R., Damn Girl and more, all to be enjoyed from the comfort of your home.
Virtual Marketplace
Vendors from across the region, including Experience Columbus, will exhibit virtually at tables and in lounges on an online platform from 12 – 3 p.m on 614daycbus.com. Lovers of all things 614 are invited to attend, visit and interact with vendors and have the chance to win great prizes, including a $500 Easton gift card. See who is exhibiting here.
Show Your Pride
Apparel
One of the easiest ways to show your love for Columbus is with what you wear. If you’re in the market for some new gear this year, the team at 614 Unlimited has some exclusive t-shirts, masks, baseball tees and bags, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit United Way of Central Ohio.

Wherever you’re celebrating, you can still make yourself feel like you’re in your favorite spot with our virtual backgrounds. Raise a Toast
With Seventh Son Brewing
Seventh Son brewed up something special to help celebrate 614 Day this year. The new ‘Cheers to Columbus’ is a classic West Coast IPA available now directly from the brewery or at various locations throughout the city. At 6:14 p.m., the brewery will host a virtual toast on their Instagram and Facebook Live, including a performance by TATTAT, an awesome band that features two of their employees.
With North High Brewing
North High Brewing has put together a special 6-14 day six pack for a virtual beer tasting taking place at 3 p.m. that will walk participants through the brewing process for three of North High’s best-selling beers. Admission to the virtual session plus the six pack is only $14, with $3 being donated to local non-profits to support economic relief from recent shutdowns.
Nominate a Hospitality Hero
While many of us stayed home in recent months, hospitality workers did their best to keep our local restaurants, retail establishments, hotels, attractions, and other businesses going, and greeted us from afar with a not-so-distant smile. Now, as recovery begins, with restaurants and shops reopening – they’ll continue working with optimism and the same reliable hospitality as ever.
